“It's not the mistletoe, is it?” she asked, peeking her head out from behind the desk carefully.

“No, not the mistletoe, just the string with the bells.”

Ianto crouched behind the work station next to her, and he peered across the Hub, his face twisted into a frown.

“Good thing, too. Isn't that stuff poisonous?”

“She's a bit big, Gwen. I don't think it's like feeding mistletoe to a dog.”

To be honest, Gwen was more concerned by the idea of Torchwood's pet taking a fancy to ingesting the occupants of the Hub rather than some simple decorations; but if she had eaten the mistletoe, Gwen didn't want to have to be the one hauling a dead pterodactyl up the lift. Not to mention what would come after; she suspected chucking an extinct specimen into the bay in the middle of the night was probably not Torchwood procedure.

( And if anyone had a procedure on how to handle dead dinosaurs, it was Torchwood. )

In a minute, she’s in a position to snap his neck – muscle memory changes, but the memory of Venusian Aikido doesn’t die. They smile, and make it look so effortless that no one can tell the work going into their steps. It’s a fight in disguise. It always has been.

Because I was viciously held captive by a music video for most of this day by a music video and didn't write any of the things I'd meant to, I'm posting it here.

Oh, and also because it has to do with the Doctor. Contains clips from up to The End of Time, Part One, though really only spoilers for up to the Waters of Mars.

I said this back when the new Doctor was first announced, but given my recent quietness, I feel the need to reiterate, especially given my recent fail in writing: I'm not going to stop writing my Eleven.

That said, she's officially AU now for which Rusty is making me grateful, and I'm waiting on new canons to decide whether to write any of Matt Smith!Doctor into Claudia Black!Doctor. WE SHALL SEE. At the moment, though, I'm thinking her divergence point is The Waters of Mars, possibly even with a quiet blackout of some of the, er, odder elements of RTD's reign. I'll probably be experimenting with that in the future.

And maybe find her an RP! Who knows? Also, because I have this giant post already, and I've been ridiculously missing my icons, if anyone would be willing to give an icon addict her boost? I actually have extra userpics bought for her, because of a Thing, but I can't swing the paid time which is really sad. D:
